Materials: 5mm hook, 2 colors of weight 4 yarn. (the hook and yarn size don’t matter that much.)
Abbreviations:
MR: Magic Ring (tutorial)
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
dc: double crochet
hdc: half double crochet
Mushroom Head (color 1)
MR or ch 4 and sl st into first st.
Row 1: Ch 2. 6 dc into ring. Sl st into top of first dc. (6)
Row 2: Ch 2. 1 dc into each st. sl st into top of first dc. (6)
Row 3: Ch 2. 2 dc into each st. sl st into top of first dc. (12)
Row 4: Ch 2. (1 dc into first st, 2 dc into next.) repeat until the end of the row. Sl st to top of first dc. (18)
Row 5: Ch 2. (1 dc into first st, 2 dc into next.) repeat until the end of the row. Sl st to top of first dc. (27)
Row 6: Ch 2. 1 dc into each st. sl st into top of first dc. (27)
Row 7: Ch 2. 2 dc into each st. sl st into top of first dc. Tie off. (54)
Mushroom Stem (color 2)
MR or ch 4 and sl st into first ch. Ch 2.
Row 1: 8 dc into middle of ring. Sl st into top of first dc (8)
Row 2: 2 hdc into each st. sl st to top pf first hdc. (16)
Rows 3-10: ch 2. 1 dc in each st. sl st to top of first dc.(16)
Ch 100 (or ch until the strap is as long as you like). Don’t tie off yet! Cut yarn about 8” after the chain ends.
Pull the chain through the 4th row of the mushroom head. Pull it back through the 4th row on the opposite side of the mushroom head.
Sl st to opposite side of mushroom stem from where the chain started. Tie off and weave in any loose ends.
